Eid ul-Fitr, which marks the end of the fasting month of Ramadan will be celebrated world over on 1st of September. In the US, Eid will be celebrated on 30^th of August. On April 5, 2011, he has started a fast unto death to make pressure on union government to enact Lokpal Bill, a law enabling Lokpal to deal with corruption in public offices.

Anna's Lokpal claimed, "Like Supreme Court (SC) and Election Commission, an independent body called Jan Lokpal should be set up at the Centre and a Jan Lokayukta should be set up in each state to receive complaints of corruption, investigate them within six months and prosecute the guilty." The Lokpal Bill is a measure to conduct an investigation regarding involvements of people with high profiles (Prime Ministers, Chief Justice of India (CJI) and so on). The bill will provide speedy, cheaper form of justice to people. It will not wait for any permission from the high commission to begin the inquiry into the alleged irregularities and corruption charges against political leaders, judges or even the Chief Justice of India (CJI). Tiger Woods, former World No.1 and a 14-time major champion, is all geared up to return to competition next week in the World Golf Championships-Bridgestone Invitational at Firestone Country Club in Akron, Ohio.

This will be his first competitive event in nearly three months after he withdrew from the Players Championship on May 12 due to an aggravated left knee injury which he suffered at the Masters in April.

After returning to competition on April 8, 2010 for the 2010 Masters from an indefinite break which lasted for 20 weeks, his career graph has declined like anything. He has not won a single title since mid-November 2009. On October 31, 2010, he lost the world No.1 ranking to Lee Westwood. Currently, he is placed at No.21 in the world, which is his lowest rank since January 19, 1997.

Earlier he has won the $8.5 million WGC-Bridgestone title seven times. The much awaited Aarakshan by Prakash Jha will hit the theatres on August 12, 2011. With a strong ensemble cast, the film is all set to woo cinemagoers. The storyline is hard-hitting weaving around one of the most controversial issues of caste based reservations in government jobs and educational institutions.

It is the story of Prabhakar Anand (Amitabh Bachchan), an idealistic principal of a college, who single-handedly turned it into the best college of his state. Rahul Dravid, the Indian Wall stood tall scoring his 33rd Test, also his first at Lord's, to help India put on 286 in reply to England's first innings total of 474/8 declared, during the third day of the first Test at Lord's in London.

Lord's was glorious that day. A jam packed stadium was over-excited about Sachin Tendulkar's performance. On such days a Test transforms itself from just a match into an occasion. After the dismissal of Indian batsman Mukund the crowd went berserk when Sachin Tendulkar entered the field. Dravid was waiting at the crease to greet Tendulkar. Somehow, in all the Tendulkar hundredth international hundred hype, the crowd seemed to have been forgotten that Dravid too has probably scored his century at the 11th hour - at 38, the oldest player to score one at Lord's in more than three decades - for he too is unlikely to bat here again in a Test match. When Dravid made his earlier entrance, the reception was muted: no tumultuous applause, no standing ovation. The senior batsman surpassed West Indies legend Brian Lara to become the highest run-scorer among batsmen who have batted in the fourt innings of a Test match. With a total of 33 centuries and more than 12,000 runs in Test cricket, Rahul Dravid is no doubt a legendary player.

After a lull in his career for some time now and talks of him not performing, eligible for retirement, Dravid was determined to prove his hold over the game.
