Player to watch out for: Umesh Yadav

Young, fresh in blood with a venomous pace bowling, Umesh Yadav is the bowler to watch out for. This right-arm fast medium bowler is one of the greatest find of Team India in 2011. Making his Test debut against West Indies in the first Test match in Delhi in November 2011, he got two wickets and made quite an impression. It was in the second Test match in Kolkata that we saw a destructive side of Yadav. With accurate line and length at an average bowling speed of 140km/hr, he picked up 7 wickets.

He took nine wickets in his first two Tests, thus securing his position for the Australia tour. And he lived up to everyone’s expectation by playing really well in the ongoing first Test match between India and Autralia. He took 3 wickets (Warner, Shaun Marsh and Ricky Ponting) on the first day of the Test match at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

But had he been a policeman, we wouldn’t have seen this wonder boy on the field displaying his bowling skill. This son of a coal-mine worker once wanted to become a policeman. It was only at the age of 19 that he started considering a career in cricket. In appreciation of him, Rahul Dravid said about him while delivering the 2011 Bradman Oration on December 14, “We are delighted that Umesh Yadav didn't become a policeman like he was planning and turned to cricket instead. He is the first cricketer from the central Indian first-class team of Vidarbha to play Test cricket.”

Born on October 25, 1987, he belongs to the sun sign Scorpio with ruling number 7. This number is governed by the Planet Neptune, which means that Umesh Yadav is highly imaginative, idealistic and has a dreamy nature.

Born on the 25th of the Month, he is honest, faithful and good-natured. He is quiet and somewhat mysterious. He lives a life of honesty, sincerity, loyalty and other fine virtues. He is always interested in many subjects, but somehow lacks the consistency to follow them in detail. In the year 2012, he will be in news for all the right reasons. He will continue with his good form and will prove to be a match winner.
