He is one of the biggest stars of Bollywood today and he is not a ‘Khan’. He has had some of the biggest Bollywood blockbusters to his credit. His ‘khiladi’ series has been one of the most popular and successful franchises in Bollywood. He has been the highest tax-payer of Bollywood for the past couple of years. And when he decided to return to the action genre after a gap of 7 long years, his film ended-up amassing more than 100 crores at the box-office!
Yes, he is none other than the ‘khiladi’ himself - Akshay Kumar. And he is all set to rock the box-office, again, with his second action film of the year 2012, Khiladi 786. The film is an action comedy and stars south siren Asin against him in the lead. The film also stars Mithun Chakraborty, Himesh Reshammiya, Paresh Rawal, Raj Babbar and Mukesh Rishi in significant roles.
Set in the backdrop of Punjab, Akshay Kumar plays the role of Bahattar Singh, a local hooligan who helps the cops catch the bad guys (smugglers). No girl in India is ready to get married into his family because of the wrong-doings of his entire family. On the other hand, Indu (played by Asin) is the daughter of a famous gangster Tatya Tukaram Tendulkar (played by Mithun Chakraborty) who just keeps refusing to get married to even the most decent of guys. So our match-maker Mansukh (played by Himesh Reshammiya) tries to hook-up Bahattar Singh and Indu. What follows next is a series of comic twists and turns, and you have a full masala entertainer in the form of Khiladi 786.
So will Akshay Kumar turn lucky for the third time in 2012 after the tremendous successes of Housefull 2 and Rowdy Rathore? As per numerology, his ruling number 9 says that his originality and energetic self should work in his favour. But will his khiladi magic actually work on the audience is what remains to be seen.
We will get to know if Akshay’s career graph rises or falls by the end of this weekend, but what about YOUR career?
